A Valley Jewel

  • Guest Hal (Bay Area)

With so much to see and do in the valley it was great to find such a pleasant surprise in the heart of such a charming town. Extremely well appointed, comfortable beds and spotless. Enjoyed sitting on the porch sipping our coffee, planning our day or watching storms blow through. Easy access to world class fishing and about 30 minutes to Aspen and walking distance to great restaurants. Cant wait to go back!!

My wife and I stayed at Aria’s Loft in Carbondale for a week in June., 2014. We have stayed in many VRBOs and Aria Loft ranks among the very best in terms of convenience, amenities, location, and bang for the buck. Carbondale is a wonderful (and vastly more affordable) alternative to the craziness of Aspen. The Loft is located in a residential neighborhood just a couple of blocks from Carbondale’s charming main street, which has a surprising variety of restaurants, a very cool brew pub, a couple of art galleries and some funky antique places.

Recreational opportunities abound. The Loft comes with two good quality bikes so in a couple of minutes you can be cruising down the Rio Grande Bike Trail, a paved (and relatively flat!) bike path that runs 44 miles from Glenwood Springs to Aspen, much it along the Roaring Fork River. Then there is th nearby hiking, world class fishing, kayaking and rafting. (If you are into hiking and trail running, be sure to check out the Independence Run and Hike Outdoor Store in Carbondale.) The Loft itself is spotless, tastefully furnished, private, and quiet. The owners, Marti and Chuck, are wonderful. They also gave us a tour of The Residence, a larger VRBO they also own -- it is to die for.

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Residence twice in the past 3 years and loved both visits. The house is beautiful with all the amenities you could want and located in a everyone's vision of a small town. The surrounding countryside is magnificent with plenty of things to do and places to visit from hiking to art and beyond. I will be returning.

Beautiful loft, very well-appointed living space, modern and comfortable. Carbondale is a small eclectic town, located in the beautiful Crystal River Valley. Would love to return and spend more time exploring the area. Property was as described and more. Close to everything you need, and within walking distance of many restaurants and galleries/shops. Very peaceful stay, quiet neighborhood.

We had a great experience. The owners are wonderful and did everything to make our stay comfortable. We were in town because our son was in a ski race in Aspen. He was hurt during the race and had to go to the Emergency Room at Aspen Hospital (another place we'd highly recommend). We felt so lucky to have a nice, homey place to go after we left the hospital. It felt like going home. We'll definitely come here again.

We simply could not have had a better experience at Chuck & Marti's lovely loft. This immaculate and beautifully appointed apartment has all the modern conveniences, not to mention a quiet downtown location with dining, coffee, galleries, and shops only minutes down the street! Ride your bike from the loft to beautiful river trails in minutes. And the best recreation the Rocky Mountains has to offer is a short drive away: hiking, fishing, rafting, or just plain sightseeing. Or just sit on the balcony and read a book. It does not get any better than Aria's Loft. We stayed a month -- twice! And Chuck and Marti are wonderful and accommodating hosts who will make you feel welcome. Even Chula the Lab is happy to see you! Can't wait to return.

Arias Loft is a great place to stay while visiting Carbondale (and the surrounding area). The loft is clean and well stocked with everything you need, including a washer/drier! Chuck and Marti are gracious owners who are friendly and accommodating. The loft is in town, so there are plenty of restaurant/bar options as well as grocery nearby. All in all, Arias Loft is comfortable and convenient. We'll be back!

Marti and Chuck provided a wonderful, restful getaway spot for my friend and me. We had all the comforts of home and more...a quiet neighborhood, a gorgeous front garden and the lovely balcony for lazy breakfast conversation. The listing photos don't do justice to the lovely decor and mountain themed interior. We were given lots of information about the area attractions and restaurants through conversations with our hosts and the myriad of books/guides in the rental. We both thoroughly enjoyed the low key atmosphere and non-touristy setting where we could wander up the Crystal River, stopping in little towns (Redstone, Marble) to see the sights, and sit by the river doing absolutely nothing! Carbondale is a true Colorado mountain town with shops, galleries and local restaurants. Yet, we were close to Glenwood Springs and Aspen if the need for more activity arose! I will definitely be making a return trip to Aria's Loft in the future.

My husband and I had a wonderful two week stay at Aria's Loft and we, indeed, felt at home as soon as we walked in. The apartment is light, airy, and very clean with cleverly understated decorations. Marti and Chuck had thought of everything when they designed and built the home. We enjoyed the fact that it is close to the main street in Carbondale and we could walk to all the restaurants and shops. The Wednesday Farmer's Market is just two blocks away as well as a bakery where you can buy a warm fresh baguette. I would not hesitate to recommend Aria's Loft and we hope to visit again.

Comfortable, spacious, quiet, and beautifully decorated...home away from home. The pictures don't do it justice. Chuck and Marti thought of everything you could possibly want right down to fresh blueberry muffins and hot coffee to start the morning. Aria's Loft is so convenient to a stroll downtown or hop on the Rio Grande Trail (bicyclist, walkers, runners) for some breathtaking sites! And after a day of fun, what a great way to end it but with a good night sleep in the king size bed. Can't believe how comfortable it was!! This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last...we're already planning for next year's return visit!

Carbondale is such a gem to find - then to stay in the loft was fabulous. I sat on the porch and read one night listening to music from the park. Marti and Chuck proivde everything you can think of, butter, coffee, muffins!, tea - it's all there. They truly have been waiting for you. Great bed. Incredible design and build. Two paintings are by Marti - look for them. I can't wait to go back.

Can't wait to return to this Carbondale find. This was a girl's weekend with two college friends who flew in from San Diego. We had a remarkable weekend due in great part to the comfort and convenience of this darling loft. Can't say enough about the owners' attention to detail with the fixtures and finishes. We enjoyed the convenient location to Aspen, Glenwood Springs and ate and shopped Carbondale too. Best weekend ever!

Our family of four spent a terrific night in Carbondale. This unit is three block to the music concert we saw, and two blocks from old town Carbondale with its wide variety of restaurants. Very comfortable sleeping for all. We cooked a long, drawn out breakfast in the kitchen. Can't recommend this loft highly enough. Best for two but the pull out sleeps kids well also.

My husband and I stayed at the loft in September 2011. We found it to be comfortable, quiet, well-furnished and beautifully done. It's within easy walking distance of Main St, Carbondale and all the little shops and nice restaurants. The Farmer's Market is a treat. We did lots of bicycling, hiking and hot springs sampling. Carbondale is within striking distance of lots of small, interesting communities like Basalt, Red Stone and Marble, and of course, Aspen and Glenwood Springs. Marti and Chuck are lovely and gracious hosts, helpful in all ways. We would certainly go back.

What a wonderful surprise Carbondale has been! We didn't know what to expect when we considered coming to this valley. The shops, the concert in the park, the restaurants. and best of all, the creature comforts you provide in this loft. Each night, after a busy and fun filled day, we were able to retreat to the tranquility of "our" home.
